Airbus Protect is an Airbus subsidiary launched in 2022 to centralise the group's expertise in managing risks related to operational safety, cybersecurity, and climate change.

Our mission: to protect businesses end-to-end by offering high value-added services, including strategic consulting, operational support, training, and software solutions.

Designed to meet the internal needs of the Airbus group as well as those of external clients – notably public institutions and critical infrastructure – Airbus Protect is rapidly establishing itself as a key player, with growth increasing its staff from 1,200 to over 1,800 employees in two years.

We operate in sensitive and strategic sectors: industry, aerospace, defence, energy, transport, critical infrastructure (airports, ANSPs) and public institutions.

Drawing on the Airbus DNA, our approach goes beyond mere compliance to strengthen our clients' resilience against current and emerging threats. Thanks to our agile structure, recognised expertise, and a culture of innovation (artificial intelligence, advanced technologies), we build lasting partnerships to support the secure transformation of our clients.

Cybersecurity:

We provide consulting and managed security services to help our clients establish and maintain persistent cyber-resilience to ensure business continuity in an ever-evolving threat landscape. We protect data, assets, infrastructure, production, products, software solutions, and 'cloud' applications against cyber threats. We also contribute to developing cybersecurity strategies and secure architectures, enabling our partners to comply with regulations, anticipate and manage crises, combat threats, and protect their activities.

Fence Cybersecurity Risk Assessment and Management Software:

Fence is the Airbus Protect tool for cybersecurity risk assessment and management.

Fence is a software solution, enabling simple and intuitive risk assessments with the EBIOS RM methodology, as well as compliance assessments. Fence also enables following-up the identified risk and their treatment plans, providing graphics and indicators.

It is a web application, to be deployed on premises. It is also possible to install it on a workstation or laptop, even on an air-gapped network.

A tool designed by the consultants who use it
Originally a tool invented for the risk assessments delivered by Airbus Protect consultants, Fence embeds our expertise, made available to our 400+ users.

Fence is the software solution used by Airbus for cybersecurity risk management, now available off-the-shelf. It is developed by our team based in Toulouse, France with state-of-the-art practices, within our software edition department.

Fence origins are still in its DNA: its features are designed in collaboration with the consultants who use them, and many of them are actually implemented upon their request. Indeed Fence is still the tool used daily by our risk management consultants.

We ensure regulatory compliance and, in collaboration with our clients, we improve and define new safety standards to guarantee end-user protection. Our deep engineering and regulatory expertise, combined with a spirit of open innovation, enables us to help design the future in a safe, secure, and competitive manner.

Sustainability:

Our global risk horizon is changing, with cascading impacts on businesses, the environment, and society. We must therefore develop new working methods, new products, and zero-emission energy supplies. Our cross-functional teams and experts strive to protect clients and help them achieve their sustainability goals. We focus on making new and renewable fuels, such as hydrogen, safe, from production to transport, storage, and use.

Airbus Protect consultants support partners to provide safety assurance to the Competent Authority when introducing a change to their functional system in order to ensure seamless air traffic control both at airport level and in flight.
